The recipe to make people remember you.

Challenge

From Chicago to millions of screens

La Chona had the product. Versatile, recognizable, easy to use, and made for the kind of everyday recipes people actually crave.

But outside of Chicago, the brand still had room to grow. It needed awareness beyond its home market, and it needed to build that presence in a way that felt natural across different audiences.

That meant speaking to two kinds of consumers at once: Latino audiences who could connect with the flavor through nostalgia, and American audiences who could discover it through curiosity, convenience, and appetite.

La Chona did not need just one message. It needed many ways in.

Insight

Versatility only works when creativity leads

The strength of La Chona was not tied to one recipe, one culture, or one type of consumer. Its real potential lived in how easily it could move across kitchens, cravings, and food traditions.

That became the opportunity.

Instead of over-defining the product, we let creators show what it could become. A familiar ingredient. A new craving. A quick recipe. A cultural nod. A reason to stop scrolling.

Because when a product can belong in many kitchens, its story should be told through many voices.

Idea

Make the product the starting point, not the script

We built a network of brand ambassadors who could bring La Chona into their own communities, formats, and food moments.

Rather than asking creators to repeat the same message, we gave them space to play. The product became the starting point, and their creativity did the rest.

Each piece of content turned La Chona into something different: a recipe idea, a craving trigger, a cultural reference, or a simple reason to try something new. The brand showed up naturally in feeds across audiences because the content did not feel forced. It felt like food people would actually make, save, share, and talk about.

With this approach, La Chona moved from local recognition to cultural visibility at scale. A versatile product became a reason to create, and creator-led storytelling helped carry the brand far beyond its original market.
